We have two story walks currently installed. The first is at the Westford Community Garden and the second is in our own backyard at the library.
Lola Plants a Garden at the Westford Community Gardens
The StoryWalk® at the Westford Community Garden is a great way for children (and adults) to enjoy reading and the outdoors at the same time. Laminated pages from the children’s picture book Lola Plants a Garden by Ann McQuinn are installed along the perimeter of the Garden Fence. As you walk, you are directed to the next page in the story as well as some fun exercise activity interludes.
Stop and take a picture with Lola and send it to email@example.com and we will post the pictures on this page and on our J.V. Fletcher Youth Services Department Facebook page.
The Westford Community Garden is located at 40 Graniteville Road. The garden is open to members only so enjoy the Storywalk® by staying outside of the fence.
Also, be sure to practice social distancing and bring a mask, just in case!
Jabari Jumps at the Library
Jabari Jumps by Gaia Cornwall is installed in the back of the library. Follow Jabari around as he works up the courage to take a leap from the high diving board. You just might find a kindness rock on your way around.
Please take a picture of your child with Jabari and send it to Nancy at firstname.lastname@example.org!
