This page lists special program offerings from February through April. Many of these programs have been made possible by COVID funding secured by Senator Edward J. Kennedy, First Middlesex District as well as generous funding from the Friends of the J.V. Fletcher Library.
Mini Chocolate Box Sculpture
Live, Virtual – Tuesday, February 16 at 2:30 and 4 PM

Teens and tweens in grades 5 and up are invited to sign up to make a cute miniature chocolate box filled with clay bonbons. Pop Up Art school will teach a pinching technique to make the box and roll small balls of clay to make the animal bonbons. After the class, the library will send you a video from Pop Up Art School that shows you how to paint your miniature chocolate box after it dries.
Please register for ONE of the two program time slots. Registrants need to come to the library to pick up the supply kit before the program (you can do that using our curbside service).

Stained Glass Picture Frame
Live, Virtual – Thursday, February 18 at 3:30 PM

In this Zoom instructional program presented by Ways of Color, kids in grades 5 and up will make a beautiful picture frame from a prepackaged kit that will be available for curbside pickup before the program. Each kit includes everything necessary to create a real art piece – a wooden frame, plenty of multicolored stained glass pieces to cover the surface of the frame, glue, a wooden stick, and grout.
This program is open to Westford residents and requires a library card number for sign up. Registration for this program opens on Monday, February 1, 2021.

Virtual Cartooning Class

Award winning cartoonist and humorous illustrator Rick Stromoski will teach you how to create a big variety of cartoon characters. You supply the paper and pencils. Links to register are with each class description below.
