All events will be masked, socially distanced, outdoor when possible and virtual when applicable.


The Friends of the J.V. Fletcher Library generously fund all programs unless otherwise specified.

All in-person programs will include snacks! Please e-mail jdyment@westfordma.gov if you have a food allergy.

Monday, September 20 from 3:30-4:30pm. Make & Take Crafternoon. Join us in the Meeting Room for an Oreo Flavor Taste-Test, and a relaxing glitter jar craft.

Tuesday, September 21 from 2-3pm. Blanchard Book Club. JV Fletcher YA Librarian, Jess, joins the Blanchard Middle School librarian and students after school in the Learning Commons. We’ll discuss our favorite books we read over the summer and take home copies of our first Book Club Pick of the year. (Remember to bring your library card to the first meeting!)

Wednesday, October 6 from 2-3pm. Stony Brook Book Club. JV Fletcher YA Librarian, Jess, joins the Stony Brook Middle School librarian and students after school in the school library. We’ll discuss our book club options for the year and pick up our first book! (Remember to bring your library card to the first meeting!)

Monday, October 18 from 3:30-4:30pm. Make & Take Crafternoon. Join us in the Meeting Room to make your own mini monster book or spell book, and decorate a pumpkin!

Tuesday, October 19 from 2-3pm. Blanchard Book Club. Join Jess and Mrs. Brandt in the Blanchard Learning Commons to eat some snacks, create some art inspired by the novel, and discuss Small Spaces by Katherine Arden.

Thursday, October 28 from 3:30-4:30pm. Let’s Draw Monsters! Award-winning cartoonist Rick Stromoski will show you how to draw creatures, goblins, ghosts, and all things Halloweeny! This is a virtual ZOOM program. Registration opens Tuesday, October 12. Sign Up Here!

Wednesday, November 3 from 2-3pm. Stony Brook Book Club. Join Jess and Mrs. Smith in the Stony Brook Library to eat some snacks, make a witchy craft and discuss The Witch Boy by Molly Ostertag.

Monday, November 15 from 3:30-4:30pm. Make & Take Crafternoon. Learn to make uniquely decorated pouches out of a zip-lock bag, and make your own signature Hot Cocoa recipe!

Tuesday, November 16 from 2-3pm. Blanchard Book Club. Join us for our discussion of Historical Fiction Graphic Novels. The 6th grade group will be discussing Superman Smashes the Klan by Gene Luen Yang, and the 7th/8th grade group will discuss Displacement by Kiku Hughes.

Wednesday, December 1 from 2-3pm. Stony Brook Book Club. Join us for a craft and discussion of mystery books. The 6th grade group will discuss The Strangers by Margaret Peterson Haddix, and the 7th/8th grade group will discuss The Inheritance Games by Jennifer Lynn Barnes.

Monday, December 20 from 3:30-4:30pm. Make & Take Crafternoon. Learn to make pop-up greeting cards! Make a card for your friends and family, and an extra card or two to give to someone in need of some extra winter cheer.

Tuesday, December 21 from 2-3pm. Blanchard Book Club. Join us in the Learning Commons for our Fantasy discussion. The 6th grade group will discuss Gregor the Overlander by Suzanne Collins, and the 7th/8th grade group will discuss Akata Witch by Nnedi Okorafor.
