Summer Reading Program (Toddler to Grade 4)

  • Summer Reading Program (Toddler to Grade 4)

The Summer Reading Program (SRP) is free and open to Westford children and out of town Friends of the J.V. Fletcher Library from preschool to those entering 4th grade in September. Older children entering 5th grade and up are encouraged to participate in the Tween and Teen program. The SRP offers weekly prizes for reaching reading goals as well as fun weekly programs.

Children who read set weekly, individual reading goals with their parents. Reading goals will vary from child to child and perhaps from week to week. This year is a little different – we will be using an online program called READSquared for you to log your reading, earn your prizes, complete missions, and enter raffles.

Children who are read to can also participate!

Here is a video of Miss Nancy explaining how the program will work this year.

Logging your Reading

This summer we are using the READSquared program to record your summer reading. Adults and teens are using this too to track their summer reading. The beauty of this is that you can enter your summer reading from any device (with the app) or computer – no matter where you are!

PICKUP USING OUR CURBSIDE DELIVERY SERVICE Monday-Saturday 10am-4pm and Monday-Thursday 6:30-8:30pm

The website for the J.V. Fletcher READSquared program is Adults, teens, and kids will use this to log their summer reading.

Also, you can download the READSquared app to your phone or tablet. Either will work – use both! Be sure to search “Fletcher” or “J. V. Fletcher” with a space between J. the and V.

Since you can’t come see us, we are figuring out ways for us to come to you:

LIVE VIRTUAL Events: Some events will happen in real time. You will sign up and we will email you the website you need to visit along with an access code to see the show.
VIRTUAL Events: Some events will be online but you can watch them when you want! Our events calendar will have links to special performers and our Facebook page will have posted videos from your favorites in Youth Services.
