Library Building Project Progress

“Building progress (North). This image captures the progress made on the overall building construction, taken from the parking lot area, looking South. It includes the progress made on steel erection level 1- level 3, the exterior sheathing installation on level 1 , as well as the roof screen structural members installed.” 4/3/26
“Signed steel beam installed at West wing stairwell B ceiling area (SE). This photo shows the signed steel beam installation at the west wing; it encapsulates beautifully in one image how much progress is made with still erection. Typically, one of the last pieces of steel to be installed during steel erection, though not the very last one in this instance given that there are other miscellaneous pieces left to be installed, it is how ever a great milestone for the project.” 3.30.26

On Friday, January 23 2026, a Library Steel Beam signing was held at the old fire station followed by a brief celebration at the Westford Museum. This photo was taken from the back of the building, it shows the Northwest corner (where the new Children’s department will be) of the building and depicts the progress made on steel erection. So far, the columns are installed, and beams and girders are in progress on levels 2 and 3. 12/24/25

This is a photo of the North Elevation showing the new addition in the foreground and the two wings, East and West of existing building. As an update to last month’s progress photo, please note that Stair C CMU wall and the elevator Shaft CMU wall are completed and the Scaffoldings are removed. Underground plumbing is ongoing but not visible given the angle the picture was taken from. 12/1/25
This view is from the parking lot area looking towards the new entry.  The Meeting room is on the left side, with the children’s room towards the right.  Perimeter foundation walls are complete, as well as footings for the new steel superstructure.  The Concrete Masonry Unit (CMU) walls forming the new Stair and Elevator are in progress. 11/7/25
In October the outer walls are visible, as well as the future patio site.
