Stickerpalooza

Join us for an afternoon of open-ended sticker fun!. Each participant will receive a mini-sticker booklet to decorate and collect stickers. Choose from our extensive sticker stash, but feel free to bring along your own stickers to share and swap with others! For ages 5+

Library Card Sign Up

September is Library Card Sign-Up Month! A library card offers a front-row seat to everything the library offers, from books and technology to lifelong learning and imagination.
Please stop in to our Children’s Room, at the J. V. Fletcher Library’s temporary location (515 Groton Road), during the week of Monday, September 14th through Friday, September 18th, to register your child for their own J. V. Fletcher Library card. We will have goodies, a fun photo backdrop, and props to celebrate this special moment.
Please note: the library staff will request positive identification showing the parent’s name and current legal address; this may include a government-issued photo ID, utility bill, or a tax bill.

Books & Bunnies at Good Pickin’ Farm

Winnie the Pooh Storytime

Winnie the Pooh House, 39 Main Street
Join us at the charming Winnie the Pooh house for a fun storytime based on A.A. Milne’s Winnie the Pooh story! Ellen Harde will read selections from the original Winnie the Pooh and young participants will have time to explore Westford’s Winnie the Pooh house. This year celebrates the 100-year anniversary as the original book’s publication by A.A. Milne was on on October 14, 1926. This program is for ages 2-6. Registration is required. Questions? Stuffie Sleepover at the Library

Bring your stuffies over to the Children’s s Room and let them roam the library overnight! Drop-off will be from 2 PM – 4:30 PM on Thursday, October 15th. You can pick them up Friday, October 16th, starting at 1 PM.
Drop off your stuffies and don’t forget to make them a nametag while you’re here! There will be lots of fun adventures in store for them! We’ll make sure to tuck them in for a good night’s sleep afterward. Pictures of what they got up to will be posted on the Children’s Instagram, @jvfletcherkids. Questions? Stargazing Party
Thursday, October 15 6:00—7:30 p.m.
Stony Brook Middle School, 9 Farmer Way
Join us for an evening of stargazing at Stony Brook Middle School! We’ll go stargazing with members of the Amateur Telescope Makers of Boston. They will bring along their telescopes to get a great look at the night sky. Please feel free to bring along your own telescope too! This program is for all ages (recommended for ages 5+). We will need clear skies, so please check our website for updates. This event is weather dependent; a rain date is scheduled for Thursday, October 22nd at 6:00 p.m. Questions? A star party is a gathering of amateur astronomers who set up their telescopes and other observing equipment so attendees can view the night sky. It is wonderful way to see things that you normally can’t see without a telescope. During a typical start party you may view the moon, planets, stars, galaxies and more.
This fun event is sponsored by the Amateur Telescope Makers of Boston, Westford Climate Action, the Westford Recreation Department, and the J.V. Fletcher Library.

Strega Mama Storytime:
Dia de Los Muerto

Join us for a Dia de Los Muertos storytime featuring performer Strega Mama! We’ll read a picture book together, sing songs, play a skeleton game, then through a roll of the dice everyone gets a chance to add something to our very own Ofrenda! Create a Dinosaur Mosaic with Tiny Tile Mosaics

Create a fun dinosaur mosaic as part of our DiNOVember celebration!
Join Crystal D’Abbrachio, of Tiny Tile Mosaics, for this creative workshop. All supplies are included. This workshop is open to children ages 5 and up. Young participants will learn about mosaic art and have the opportunity to work with colorful mosaic tiles to create their dinosaur mosaic in a wood bezel. Children will have time to apply the mosaic tiles with adhesive during the workshop and will take the grout (and grouting instructions) home with them to finish once it is fully dry. Questions? ZMakesBeads with Zangar

Join us for a creative and meditative beading workshop for kids! Zangar of ZMakesBeads will be here to lead this expressive arts workshop that teaches participants the basics of beaded jewelry making and the difference between semi-precious stones and precious stones. The materials used are semi-precious stones and other natural jewelry materials. Semi-precious stones have been appreciated for generations. Young participants will leave with their own handmade jewelry. No prior art or jewelry-making experience required, all materials and tools are provided. Zangar Freeman is a first-generation Liberian‑American jewelry artist, educator, and veteran. With a background in social work and over a decade of experience in jewelry-making, His work across New England emphasizes accessibility, cultural storytelling, and the power of creative practice as a grounding and reflective tool.
