September 5, 2024: Two independent cost estimates indicate that the Library Building Project is on budget; design is indicating the facility will reach an EUI of 25; the vote to proceed to Construction Documents has passed; responses to the off-site RFP are due September 6, and formal Town Internal Review will commence.
August 15, 2024: Sub-committees to be formed are — Furnishings and Fixtures, and Contractor Pre-qualification.
July 30, 2024: Advertisement for the Commissioning Agent has gone out; the RFP for a temporary location is published as of July 31, and Design Development is nearing 100% completion. Furnishing options are under consideration.
July 16, 2024: Design Development is near 75% completion and meetings are being re-scheduled to receive new Cost Reconciliation figures just after Labor Day.
June 26, 2024: Internal Town Review, Safety and IT reviews have taken place with Town staff, and the Commissioning Agent contract has been submitted for approval. The RFP for a temporary location is near completion.
June 11, 2024: At the mid-point of Design Development, a meeting with Mass SAVE has taken place, Internal Town Review is scheduled, safety and IT reviews will occur and off-site options for a temporary location are being toured.
May 28, 2024: A quote is being sought on cleaning, repairing and re-leading the original Stained Glass transoms for re-use and ornamentation in the future library design (10 in all). An estimate on climate control for the historic Mary Atwood Hall is being sought.
May 21, 2024: The project site plan is being refined for approval by the Library Working Group and the Joint Library Building Committee on June 3, 2024.
May 14, 2024: The project is proceeding with Design Development, plans are being prepared for Internal Town Review, an RFR is being distributed for a Commissioning Agent, and the Library Director is creating a DRAFT RFR for a temporary off-site library location [to be needed in early 2025].
